Natural Sweetener (Thaumatin)

Thaumatin is a natural protein sweetener derived from the fruit of the Thaumatococcus daniellii plant, native to West Africa. It is intensely sweet and is often used in small quantities as a low-calorie sweetening agent in food products. The FDA has granted thaumatin Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) status for its use in foods.
