Hexafluoropropylene oxide dimer acid (HFPO-DA) is a per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS), commonly known by the trade name GenX. It is a synthetic fluorinated chemical used as a processing aid in fluoropolymer manufacture. PFAS compounds are persistent environmental pollutants with bioaccumulative properties and potential toxicity.
