A synthetic biodegradable polyester used in various applications including biomedical devices and as a component in some fragrance materials. Not a food ingredient and generally considered safe for use in controlled-release and medical contexts. When used in candles or fragrances as micro-encapsulation or similar, potential inhalation safety depends on formulation and burning conditions.
